The aim of this project was to foster entrepreneurship skills and creativity among children. By giving them a platform to present their business ideas, the initiative aimed to inspire and empower young minds to think innovatively and develop their entrepreneurial abilities.

The format of “Dragons Den” typically involves aspiring entrepreneurs presenting their business concepts to a panel of experienced investors, who are referred to as “dragons.” The dragons then evaluate the pitches and decide whether to invest in the ventures.

In the community-led project, the children played the role of the aspiring entrepreneurs, while the successful entrepreneurs served as the panelists or “dragons.” The children had the opportunity to showcase their business ideas, explain their concepts, and outline their plans for implementation. The panelists then critically evaluated the pitches and provided constructive feedback to help the children refine and enhance their ideas.

The feedback and advice offered by the panelists aimed to guide the children in various aspects of their business proposals, such as identifying potential challenges, improving market viability, enhancing marketing strategies, and considering financial sustainability. The intention was to provide valuable insights and suggestions to help the children develop their ideas into more practical and successful ventures.

By organising this project, we sought to instil entrepreneurial skills, confidence, and creativity in the participating children. It provided them with a platform to learn from experienced entrepreneurs, gain exposure to the world of business, and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit.

Overall, this project aimed to emulate the format of the television show “Dragons Den” and create a similar environment where children could pitch their business ideas and receive feedback from a panel of successful entrepreneurs. The initiative intended to inspire and educate young individuals about entrepreneurship, fostering their creativity and empowering them to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams.
